Lobuche Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC) is an ideal pick from a bunch of peak climbing options available in Nepal. It presents an exemplary exposure to a peak-climbing adventure in the Khumbu region. Rising tall just above the village, Lobuche Peak has a charm that has attracted a lot of peak climbers and mountaineers.
Ascending to the peak isn’t so specialized; however, the high-height introduction to the rugged territory and erratic climate conditions up there is a genuine test that makes the climb tough. The path from the base camp to the peak offers some eminent perspectives on mountains in the Everest Region. Therefore, we complete the Everest Base Camp Trekking before starting our climb from Lobuche Base Camp to acclimatize ourselves and increase the probability of a successful ascent.
From the top, you will have some uncommonly wonderful views of mountains that incorporate Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Pumori, and the mightiest of all—Everest. It is the principal highlight that makes Lobuche Peak climbing with the Everest Base Camp Trek a remarkable trip among every Mount Everest tour.
Quick facts
Lobuche Peak consists of two summits: Lobuche East and West Peaks. T
he East Peak stands tall at an altitude of 6119 meters and is a popular trekking peak.
On the other hand, the West Peak rises to an elevation of 6145 meters and is suitable for expedition journeys. Climbing Lobuche Peak is considered the first step towards the mountaineering world, and one needs a special climbing permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association to attempt it.
A sharp ridge connects the two summits of the peak. The Lobuche East peak, which we are discussing for the climbing adventure, was first scaled on April 25th, 1984, by two enthusiastic climbers, Laurence Neilson and Ang Gyaljen Sherpa.
The route to Lobuche Peak via EBC
To climb Lobuche Peak, we follow a classic trail to Everest Base Camp, starting with a short 35-minute flight to Lukla. From there, we ascend to Phakding, enter the Sagarmatha National Park, and pass various Sherpa villages, forests, and undulating paths up and down to Namche and then Tengboche.
Then, after visiting the Tengboche monastery, we move through the pastures of Dingboche and Lobuche to Gorakshep.
Next, we reach Everest Base Camp, and a short hike to Kala Patthar offers spectacular views of mountains in the Everest region. Later, we descend and head towards Lobuche Base Camp for the climbing experience.
