The Pisang peak rises tall over an elevation of 6091 meters just above the Pisang village, a stopover on the route of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. From the Pisang village, the peak shines like a pyramid of ice and snow.
The top of the peak offers some fantastic views of the Annapurna panorama that includes mountains like Mt. Himlung, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Khangaru, Mt. Annapurna II, Mt. Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Tilicho Peak, Glacier Dome, and many more.
The route to Pisang Peak
It starts with a scenic drive along the highway route to Chamje. Then, we trek along the lush countryside landscape to Dharapani. We ascend to Pisang village. It is a beautiful village that lies at the foot of the glorious Pisang peak. From the village, we walk up to Pisang Base Camp and acclimatize ourselves for the climb ahead.
Using the climbing gear, we follow the lead of our climbing leader and make our way up to the summit of Pisang Peak. From the peak, we descend to Pisang and follow the trail of the Annapurna Circuit to Thorong La Phedi. We cross the Thorong La pass and trek to Muktinath for spiritual vibes in the temple with amazing views of the mountains in the backdrop.
Why is Pisang Peak Expedition so popular?
Pisang peak climbing is a journey of diversity. With this trek, one can explore the diverse culture, diverse people, diverse flora, and fauna in the Annapurna region of Nepal. During the journey, we pass through some stunning locations enriched with diverse ecosystems, cultures, and amazing landscapes. It offers some diverse forms of gorgeous nature, like mountains, rivers, valleys, forests, farmlands, waterfalls, etc.
Is Pisang Peak climbing difficult?
Though the Pisang peak in the Annapurna region is one of the lower altitude climbing peaks in Nepal, it is technically a bit challenging. From the Pisang Peak High Camp, we climb up a trail full of rocky fragments, sediments, pitches, and rocky slabs covered with snow. Our leader and supporting crew will tie ropes on the route.
With the help of our climbing gear, we will follow in the footsteps of the leader. The final ascent up to the summit is steep and exposed to snow, so the climb can be tough sometimes! However, a bit of practice, preparation, and confidence are enough to accomplish our climb up to the Pisang peak.
